Q. Do I have to remove the panels myself?
A. Yes, in order to keep the cost to you down to a minimum I ask all customers to have the panels removed and cleaned before collection. I would be grateful if you could also remove all fixings. If for any reason this is not possible I can collect your complete bike and a small fee will be charged for panel removal. (Collection is only available within a 30-mile radius)
Q. How long will it take to repair my panels?
A. This obviously depends on the size of the job. My aim is to have all work completed and returned within 14 days, if this is not possible; you will be informed at the time of your estimate. If there are any unforeseen delays I will endeavour to contact you immediately. Obviously I have a larger workload come Spring/Summer. As a bike rider myself I know what it is like to be without your bike in the good weather so can I suggest for less serious damage or full re-paints you might want to wait until the 'off season'.
Q. How much will I have to pay?
A. I need to see the damage before I can answer that. Preparation is the most important but time-consuming part of any repair. For a rough guide please visit the Price Guide page.
Q. How and when do I pay?
A. Payment becomes due on the return of your completed work. I will accept cash (a receipt will be provided) or you may pay by cheque (a valid card will be required).
Q. What if I am unhappy with my repair/paintwork?
A. I am here to help and aim to give 100% customer satisfaction. I always show the customer the completed work pointing out the repair area before I ask for any payment. If you should discover any problems with the repair or paintwork, or you are unhappy in any way please do not hesitate to Contact Me. Obviously I cannot accept any liability for damage caused by the re-fitting of the panels.
Q. Can you replace or fit decals?
A. Yes I can supply and fit all types of decals or better still I can apply your design in paint so you can have a very smooth finish.
Q. Should I have my decals lacquered?
A. 99% of decals on the fairing panels of modern bikes are not lacquered over, therefore to keep a total factory finish and help maintain the full re-sale value of the bike the answer is no. To protect your decals and provide a better and harder wearing finish the answer is yes. The choice is therefore the customer's.
Q. Can you do mechanical repairs or a service on my bike?
A. As oil, grease and the like do not mix well with paint I only specialize in cosmetic repairs.
